Historical Significance:

In 1983, the merging of three sanctuaries – Rajaji, Motichur, and Chilla – gave birth to the expansive Rajaji National Park. It was named in honor of the late C. Rajagopalachari, a prominent freedom fighter and the first governor-general of India, popularly known as “Rajaji.”
